The
S9 solar powered streetlight is the ideal renewable energy
solution for municipal, commercial and The
unit is easy to install, versatile in application and reliable
in operation. The S9 is powered solely by the sun and is fully
operational even in overcast weather conditions. Specifications Light
Otput: The
lamp utilizes a 9 Watt high efficiency, long life, compact
fluorescent tube as light source. Power consumption is much lower than
that of an ordinary light bulb but still gives a considerable
light output of approximately 4.5 lux at a distance of 6 meters.
Gasket:
The gasket is of silicone sponge fitted in a
groove on the main body. The bowl has a tongue, which fits into
the silicone sponge; when the bowl is dosed it will prevent the
ingress of water, dust or insects. A rubber grommet shrouds the
wires from the gear to lamp compartments to ensure the highest
possible IP rating.
Reflector
System: Specula high purity anodized aluminum,
chemically brightened for maximum efficiency.
The back reflector is shaped to reduce shine back into
the lamp. Lamp: The lamp utilizes a 9 Watt high efficiency long life compact fluorescent
light (CFL), which has an operational life of more than 8000 hours.
In this application it equates to a lamp life of 2.5
years. The CFL also has a high operational efficiency, so much
so that the system only requires a 30 Watt solar module. Solar
Module: A 30 Watt crystalline solar module is used.
Fully adjustable acetal mounting allows for the solar module to
be quickly and easily positioned. The solar module has a life
expectancy of 20-years. Battery:
A sealed, maintenance free, lead calcium
battery is used in the solar streetlight. The battery is rated
at 40 Amp/hour. Due to the low consumption of the CFL the
battery is capable of operating the streetlight for 12 hours per
night for five consecutive days without charge. These batteries
have a life expectancy of 4 to 5 years. Control
Unit: The peak power-tracking unit is the heart of
the system. Microprocessor controlled the regulator monitors
temperature, solar panel voltage and battery voltage. It has a
built in load disconnect, which in the event of low battery
voltage will disconnect the load to protect the battery. The
control unit is also responsible for turning the lamp on and
off. It has a built in delay circuit, which prevents the lamp
from turning on and off in the case of lightning. Dimensions:
